Classrooms<\/h3>\n

The premises of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences are equipped with modern teaching and technical aids (writing boards, computers, projectors and speakers). Some rooms are equipped for virtual and hybrid teaching. The Faculty also has computer classrooms.<\/p>\n

Virtual Classrooms<\/h3>\n

The Faculty operates a virtual classroom system for virtual and hybrid teaching based on the BigBlueButton platform. The system is available only to users registered in the Faculty\u2019s user database. Link to the virtual classrooms: https:\/\/online.ffos.hr\/<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Laboratory for Psychological and Linguistic Research (Psych-Lingv Lab)<\/span><\/h3>\n

The Laboratory for Psychological and Linguistic Research was equipped in 2020. It occupies 70 square metres in the basement of the Faculty. It contains one large room with ten tables and laptop computers, enabling group research using computer software as well as paper-and-pencil tests. When necessary, the tables can be moved apart to create space for research involving virtual reality techniques and similar methods. In addition to the large room, the laboratory also includes a soundproof booth intended for high-quality sound recording.<\/p>\n

Laboratories of this type are particularly important in the social sciences and humanities because, over the past decade, there has been a growing need to verify existing knowledge about human behaviour, thought and speech. The literature in the social sciences and humanities contains a considerable body of knowledge about how society and individuals function that is based on survey research \u2013 research relying on participants\u2019 self-reports. Although this type of research is highly important and useful, scientists should not accept such data unreservedly. To determine how accurately our knowledge of society and individuals reflects human nature, certain hypotheses and theories must also be tested experimentally. The laboratory at our Faculty therefore represents an important step forward in scientific research, enabling our researchers to keep pace with trends and technological developments in the international scientific community.<\/p>\n

In addition to supporting the scientific work of Faculty staff, the laboratory also plays an important educational role in training future researchers from all organisational units of the Faculty. During their studies, students will be able to use the laboratory for their own research under the supervision of their teachers, providing them with a practical environment in which to develop skills and gain experience in conducting complex research in a laboratory setting.<\/p>\n

Cafeteria<\/h3>\n

A comfortable cafeteria is located on the ground floor of the building and provides a suitable space for preparation, relaxation or a nutritious meal.<\/p>\n

Ceremonial Halls<\/h3>\n

The Faculty building also contains two ceremonial halls. The Large Ceremonial Hall is located on the second floor and is equipped with two projection screens, technology for virtual and hybrid events, and simultaneous interpreting equipment. The Small Ceremonial Hall is located on the first floor and is equipped with a large projection screen and the technology required for virtual and hybrid events.<\/p>\n
