At the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Osijek, the Students&#8217; Union consists of seventeen members, with the president acting as coordinator. The Council operates in accordance with the Statute adopted at a session of the Assembly. All seventeen members of the Students&#8217; Union also serve as representatives on the Faculty Council of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and participate equally in its work. They vote on decisions concerning appointments and promotions to academic titles, approve enrolment in higher semesters for students who were previously denied a lecturer\u2019s signature for a specific reason, discuss current student issues and seek, through their work, to contribute to the effective operation and functioning of the Faculty.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The primary task of the Council is to safeguard the rights of every student, work towards resolving all issues related to teaching and examinations within each study programme and serve as a link between the Faculty administration and students. Since a faculty operates differently from a school, it is especially important to support first-year students, who may encounter administrative difficulties because they are not accustomed to the large volume of new information and may therefore find it more difficult to learn about their rights.
