By compiling a dictionary of his local speech variety (which also includes words related to contemporary communication), T. Šalić joined a trend increasingly present among speakers of the Slavonian dialect and scholars for whom it is their mother tongue – a growing awareness of the need for its museum preservation and popularisation.
