IUC Dubrovnik \u2013 Future of Religion Course<\/strong><\/p>\n

In May 2026, student Ilija \u0160u\u0161ak, under the mentorship of Full Professor \u017deljko Pavi\u0107, participated in the Future of Religion course at the Inter-University Centre in Dubrovnik. On that occasion, he gave a presentation entitled Religion and Immigration in Europe<\/em>.<\/p>\n

International Scientific Conference European Realities \u2013 MIR<\/strong><\/p>\n

In April 2026, student Vlatka Fapali, under the mentorship of Assistant Professor Ivana Perku\u0161i\u0107 and Full Professor \u017deljko Pavi\u0107, gave a presentation at the International Scientific Conference European Realities \u2013 MIR, held at the Academy of Arts and Culture in Osijek.<\/p>\n

BIP Interference Patterns: Science and Culture in Dialogue<\/strong><\/p>\n

In March 2026, students Izabela Jaga\u010di\u0107, Ilija \u0160u\u0161ak, Iva Stipi\u0107, Natali Tomi\u0107 and Josip Ajdukovi\u0107, under the mentorship of Krunoslav Vukeli\u0107 and Full Professor \u017deljko Pavi\u0107, participated in the Blended Intensive Programme Interference Patterns: Science and Culture in Dialogue<\/em> at the University of Zielona G\u00f3ra in Poland.<\/p>\n

Student Roman \u0160imunovi\u0107 Presented at an International Scientific Conference in Belgrade<\/strong><\/p>\n

Under the mentorship of Associate Professor Anita Dremel, sociology student Roman \u0160imunovi\u0107 participated in the scientific conference with international participation Student Protests 2024\/2025: BloKADA, if not NOW?<\/em>, held on 22 and 23 November 2025 at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Belgrade.<\/p>\n

At the conference, he presented the paper Ethics of Resistance in the Streets: A Philosophical-Sociological Insight into Generation Z Student Protests<\/em>, in which he analysed the social and political dimensions of contemporary student movements.<\/p>\n

BIP The Impact of Social Media Abuse and Addiction on Young People<\/strong><\/p>\n

In May 2025, students Iva Stipi\u0107, Natali Tomi\u0107, Josip Ajdukovi\u0107 and Mihael Coji\u0107, under the mentorship of Full Professor \u017deljko Pavi\u0107, participated in the Blended Intensive Programme The Impact of Social Media Abuse and Addiction on Young People<\/em> at the University of Alba Iulia in Romania.<\/p>\n

Sociology Students at the Winter School “Gender and Art”<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sociology students Karla Pru\u017einac and Josipa Gr\u017ei\u0107 participated in the Winter School Gender and Art<\/em> from 28 October to 2 November 2024, organised by the University of Tuzla, the TPO Foundation and the University Gender Resource Centre of the University of Sarajevo.<\/p>\n

The programme focused on exploring the relationship between gender and art and on promoting an interdisciplinary approach to gender studies through lectures, workshops and student discussions.<\/p>\n

Roman \u0160imunovi\u0107’s Student Activities in 2024<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sociology student Roman \u0160imunovi\u0107 participated in several scientific and professional events during 2024.<\/p>\n

At the 13th Days of Sexuality, a scientific and professional conference organised by the Kasper Psychology Students’ Association of the University of Zadar and held from 8 to 10 May 2024, he presented the paper Queerbaiting in Marketing and the Media<\/em>. The paper critically examined representations of LGBTIQ+ identities in contemporary media and marketing practices and their relationship to the commercialisation and social visibility of sexual minorities.<\/p>\n

He also participated in the student symposium Diskrepancija \u2013 On the Edge of Culture<\/em>, held on 9 May 2024 at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb. On that occasion, he presented the paper From Incels to Feminist Theory: Gender-Based Violence on Twitch<\/em>, devoted to the analysis of digital communities, gender relations and violence in online environments.<\/p>\n

From 19 to 23 February 2024, he participated in the Winter School Gender and Violence<\/em> in Novi Sad. The event was organised by the University of Novi Sad and the Laboratory for Gender Research, in cooperation with the Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory of the University of Belgrade, the TPO Foundation and the University Gender Resource Centre of the University of Sarajevo. Roman \u0160imunovi\u0107 was among 40 students from 18 universities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro and Serbia who took part.<\/p>\n

ERL VI International Conference and Winter School “Gender and Globalisation”<\/strong><\/p>\n

Under the mentorship of Associate Professor Anita Dremel, student Izabela Jaga\u010di\u0107 participated in the 6th International Pedagogical and Linguistic Conference Emotions in Language Learning and Use<\/em>, held on 13 and 14 June 2023 in Ulm, Germany. At the conference, she presented the paper Emotion and Implicit Bias in Voice: Feminist Perspectives on Vocal Fry<\/em>.<\/p>\n

That same year, she also participated in the Winter School Gender and Globalisation<\/em>, held from 20 to 26 February 2023 as part of the UNIGEM project. The Winter School was organised by the TPO Foundation and the University Gender Resource Centre in Sarajevo, while Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek was one of the project partners.<\/p>\n

Izabela Jaga\u010di\u0107’s paper entitled Vocal Fry, Masculine Moulds, Feminist Perspectives<\/em>, prepared under the mentorship of Associate Professor Anita Dremel, was selected for publication in the conference proceedings.<\/p>\n

First Annual Innovation for Nextgen EU Student Conference<\/strong><\/p>\n

In September 2021, students Vlatka Fapali and Augustin \u0110ura\u0161evi\u0107 gave a presentation at the First Annual Innovation for Nextgen EU Student Conference<\/em>, held at the University of Alba Iulia in Romania.<\/p>\n
