The first edition of the conference was held in 2007 and focused on the transition of Croatian society within globalisation processes, while the central theme of the second conference (2009) was the future of rural areas and agriculture in Croatia, Slavonia and Baranja. The third conference (2011) analysed changes in the rural identity of the region resulting from the influence of increasingly dominant non-agricultural activities, while the fourth conference (2013) focused on the impact of education on orientation towards the knowledge economy. The fifth conference (2016) addressed issues of regional identity and economic change. The sixth edition of the conference was held in 2018 and was co-organised by the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Osijek, the Faculty of Agriculture in Osijek, the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Montenegro and the Faculty of Agriculture in Novi Sad. The following edition was held in 2020 and was co-organised by the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Osijek, the Faculty of Agrobiotechnical Sciences Osijek, the University of Alba Iulia (Romania), the University of Bia\u0142ystok (Poland) and the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Novi Sad (Serbia).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The most recent edition of the conference was held in 2023 and was co-organised with the Faculty of Agrobiotechnical Sciences.
