The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Osijek and the Province of the Glagolitic Third Order Franciscans in Zagreb jointly published the book \u00bbSelected Topics from the Early Modern<\/em> and Modern<\/em> History of Croatian Glagolitism\u00ab by Assistant Professor Vera Bla\u017eevi\u0107 Krezi\u0107, PhD, from the Department of Croatian Language and Literature and the Chair of Croatian Language History and Croatian Dialectology at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Osijek, and Mirko Mi\u0161kovi\u0107, a doctoral student enrolled in the University Doctoral Study Programme in \u00bbLinguistics\u00ab at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Osijek and a Glagolitic Third Order Franciscan from the Monastery of Saint Francis Xavier in Zagreb.
\nThe book examines selected topics from four centuries of the early modern and modern history of Croatian Glagolitism. The sixteenth century is represented by a philological analysis of the two earliest printed Croatian Glagolitic primers (1527 and 1530) and by the edition of \u00bbMe\u0161trija dobra umrtija\u00ab, published by the Senj Glagolitic printing house in 1507 or 1508. The chapter dedicated to the seventeenth century provides a Latin-script transcription and philological analysis of the Glagolitic primer \u00bbAzbukividn\u00eak slovinski\u0135\u00ab (1629) by the Franciscan Rafael Levakovi\u0107. The eighteenth-century section draws on the research of Marko Japund\u017ei\u0107 (1914\u20132000), a Glagolitic Third Order Franciscan, and sheds light on the role of Matej Karaman (1700\u20131771) in the process of East Slavicisation, that is, the Ukrainianisation of Croatian Glagolitic liturgical books. The final chapter profiles philologists who contributed to the revival of the Croatian Cyrillo-Methodian heritage in the second half of the nineteenth and the first half of the twentieth century, particularly through the preparation of the Croatian New Church Slavonic Missal<\/em> printed in the Glagolitic script (1893, 1896 and 1905). Through the interpretation of archival materials and lesser-known secondary sources, the chapter presents the work of Ivan Radeti\u0107 (1835\u20131914), Vatroslav Jagi\u0107 (1838\u20131923), Ivan Ber\u010di\u0107 (1824\u20131870) and Dragutin Antun Par\u010di\u0107 (1832\u20131902).
