Contemporary adaptations of literary texts across all media and forms of popular culture often prominently depict violence, frightening events and scenes or, in the case of video games, engage players in participating in violent acts. The aim of the project is to approach the phenomenon of violence in the broadest sense of the word \u2013 psychological, verbal, sexual and physical \u2013 from different perspectives in order to identify the reasons for the prevalence and popularity of such artistic, media and popular-cultural representations, as well as their meaning for contemporary readers, viewers or video game players.<\/p>\n
