The presentation will be held at the State Archives in Osijek on Wednesday, 12 November 2025, at 12:00 noon.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The monograph entitled PRESERVATION OF WRITTEN HERITAGE \u2013 Theoretical Concepts and Practical Aspects of Preservation Management in the Context of Archives, by Iva Gobi\u0107 Vitolovi\u0107 and Damir Hasenay<\/strong>, represents a combination of theory and practice in the management of written heritage preservation in the context of archives, although preservation strategies, methods and activities are in fact common to and applicable across all information (heritage) institutions: archives, libraries and museums.<\/p>\n

The first part, entitled Theoretical Concepts of Systematic Preservation of Written Heritage in the Context of Archives, presents fundamental terms, concepts and policies in the field of written heritage preservation, explains their meaning and illustrates their interrelationships. The second part, entitled Practical Aspects of Systematic Preservation of Written Heritage: The Example of the State Archives in Rijeka, provides detailed information on a case study of a systematic approach to the preservation management of archival materials through the implementation of theoretical knowledge in the practice of the Rijeka archives. The aim of the first section is to provide a concise theoretical context for the empirical and practical topic addressed in the second part of the publication, while at the same time highlighting the complexity of written heritage preservation in the context of archives and the possible gap between theory and practice arising from the unique characteristics of each heritage institution, including its holdings, staff, users, infrastructure and other factors.<\/p>\n

The publication is intended for anyone wishing to learn about the preservation of written heritage, regardless of their prior knowledge of the subject. The presented content may also serve subject specialists, conservators-restorers, archivists and other information professionals as a source of fundamental and, in certain areas, advanced knowledge in this field.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
