LITERARY STANDARDS 1ST CIRCULAR

The project Amber Road – Central Europe launched in 2014 by Collegium Fenno-Ugricum (CFU – Badacsony) and the University of Tokaj (THE – Sárospatak) announces its next conference under the title The formation of literary standard in the languages of the Amber Road Region. We will invite and expect participants from Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Czechia, Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia and Croatia.

The location and time of the event is: Badacsonytomaj, Hungary (a small, picturesque settlement on the northern shores of Lake Balaton), 28th-30th May, 2025.

Organizers will provide free accommodation and dining during the conference.

The language of the presentations is English. The timespan available is 25 minutes.

The papers will be published in two volumes of the Báthory téka Borostyánkőút (Amber road) series of the project as peer-viewed non-conference collections. One of the volumes will be in Hungarian, the other in English. The organizers will offer participants the translation of their presentation into Hungarian. The written version can be longer than the oral presentation, max. 35.000n. The unedited version should be handed in during the conference as the preconditions of access to free accommodation and meals.

The deadline for registration is: 28th February, 2025.
