Student Journals and Collections of Papers

STUDENT JOURNALS

  • ALEPH, a literary journal produced by students of Croatian Language and Literature, received the Rector’s Award. It is published annually and provides students with their first opportunities to gain experience in editing, journalism, translation and proofreading.
  • ESSEHIST is a popular-science journal produced by students of history and other disciplines in the social sciences and humanities. The students involved in the international history students’ organisation ISHA Osijek initiated the idea of establishing the journal, whose first issue was published in December 2009. The purpose of the journal is to encourage history students to write papers and provide them with an opportunity to publish their work.
  • HRVATISTIKA is a student linguistics journal established in 2006 by students of Croatian Language and Literature at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Osijek. The journal addresses various linguistic topics and seeks to cover the entire field of linguistics, from historical to contemporary subjects. Its contributors include not only students of Croatian Language and Literature but also students from other study programmes, faculties and universities. In addition to academic and professional papers, the journal publishes reviews of recently published linguistic works and reports on current developments in linguistics. The journal is available through the Hrčak online portal.
  • LIBROS is a journal produced by information sciences students. In January 2010, the “Libros” Information Sciences Students’ Club published the first issue of its journal of the same name, Libros. The journal was created as a voluntary project by information science students. Its aim is to encourage information sciences students to participate more actively in cultural, academic and professional events important for their further professional development and advancement. The journal also seeks to establish cooperation with students in Osijek, as well as with students from Zadar and Zagreb.
  • BILTEN STUDENTSKIH RADOVA IZ FILOZOFIJE is a journal published since 2016 by students of the Department of Philosophy. A distinctive feature of the journal is that each issue focuses on a particular theme.
  • DIDASKALOS, the journal of the Association of Pedagogy Students at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Osijek, has been published since 2018. It publishes academic and professional papers in pedagogy and related disciplines. These include papers on the roles and competencies of teachers in contemporary education, children with special educational needs, partnerships between teachers and parents in children’s lives, and literacy and illiteracy in Croatia and around the world.
  • KICK, Journal of the English Students’ Association “Glotta”. The journal has been published since 2019 and currently has five issues. The first two issues were published in 2019, the third in 2020, and the fourth and fifth in 2025.
  • IMAGINACIJA is the journal of the SOCIOS student association, which brings together sociology students of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Osijek. The journal was initiated and established by students with the aim of creating a shared space for gathering, exchanging opinions and expressing creativity. Imaginacija represents a manifestation of intellectual curiosity, creativity and a desire for dialogue within the student community.
