About the Programme
Academic Writing in English
The lifelong learning programme Academic Writing in English is primarily intended for teachers, researchers and postgraduate students, as well as all other individuals within or outside the higher education system who wish to improve their academic writing skills in English.
The main aim of the Programme is to enable participants to acquire and further develop the knowledge, competences and skills required primarily for writing research papers, as well as other academic texts in English.
The Programme consists of 35 hours of instruction (10 hours of lectures and 25 hours of practical exercises) delivered over a period of 7 weeks. The Programme is held in person at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Osijek.
Admission requirements:
Admission to the Programme requires independent use of English in writing and reading at B2 level (according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages). Upon enrolment, participants submit a self-assessment statement on their level of language competence. The Programme coordinators recommend that participants whose estimated level of English is below the stated level do not enrol, as the materials are intended for participants with a higher level of English proficiency and the Programme focuses on academic writing skills rather than general English language proficiency.
Upon completion of the Programme, participants are issued a certificate of successful completion of the lifelong learning programme.
The net Programme fee per participant is EUR 465.00 and may be paid in two instalments.
