Loans

Students of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Osijek become members of the Library upon enrolment, or by renewing their membership if they are students in higher years of study, at the beginning of the winter semester. Users may borrow a maximum of 4 books from the Library at a time for a period of 15 days, with the possibility of extending the loan period for an additional 15 days. After the loan period expires, an overdue fee of EUR 0.10 per book per day is charged. In the event of a lost book, the user is required to obtain a replacement copy of the same title within one month or pay the value of the book. In the event of increased demand for a book, the user is required to return it within no more than 5 days upon request by the Library.

Digitization of Literature for Students with Visual Impairments

In accordance with Article 86 of the Copyright and Related Rights Act (Official Gazette 167/03, 79/07, 80/11, 125/11, 141/13, 127/14), literature required for classes and examinations will be digitized free of charge for students with visual impairments.

A prerequisite for digitizing or obtaining already digitized literature is the completion of the Request for the Adaptation of Literature with a Declaration on the Use of Adapted Literature, which must be sent by email to knjiznica@ffos.hr.

 

Use of Reading Rooms

Library users may use the group study reading room and the silent study reading room. The reading rooms are located on the first floor of the building at 4 Školska Street. Computer equipment in the reading rooms may be used by all Library members for writing seminar papers, undergraduate and graduate theses, and doctoral dissertations, as well as for searching databases and publicly available information resources. The reading rooms are open Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., except on Fridays, when they are open until 6:45 p.m.

 

Interlibrary Loan

At the user’s request, the Library may order from Croatia or abroad a book that is not held in its collection. Students and teaching and non-teaching staff of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Osijek are exempt from interlibrary loan fees. Users may request an interlibrary loan by providing basic information about the material they wish to borrow, either in person at the Library or via the following link:

Bibliometric Services

In accordance with the Regulations on the Conditions for Appointment to Scientific Positions, the Library of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Osijek issues, as required, appropriate certificates confirming the indexing and citation of publications in databases.

The representation (indexing) of scientific publications is checked in the relevant databases prescribed by the Regulations for specific scientific fields. Citation refers to the total number of citations of a researcher’s published works in the citation databases prescribed by the Regulations (WOSCC, SCOPUS and Google Scholar).

Authors are required to review and update their profiles in the CROSBI and Google Scholar databases, and the other relevant databases will be searched on the basis of this information.

The Library issues certificates on the indexing and citation of researchers’ publications within 5 working days of receiving the request for a certificate.

FFOS Repository

A digital repository is a collection that gathers, permanently stores and provides open access in digital form to the scientific, research, intellectual and creative output produced by an institution, its staff and students. The repository may contain undergraduate and graduate theses, dissertations, preprints, scientific and professional papers, research data, books, teaching materials, images, video and audio recordings, presentations, and digitized materials.
