Access to Databases

Access to Databases

Portal of Electronic Resources for the Croatian Academic and Scientific Community provides access to nationally licensed databases funded by the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports. The National and University Library in Zagreb has assumed the former role of the Ministry, as well as the role of the Online Databases Centre, which provided technical support at the national level for ensuring access to online databases.

How to access databases outside the institution’s IP range?

Databases can be accessed from outside the institution via the NSK Proxy Server and Shibboleth login. In both cases, access is provided through the electronic AAI@EduHr identity held by employees, teaching staff and students of every institution within the system of the Ministry of Science and Education.

Remote access may also be obtained by simply registering on the publisher’s website for the database you wish to use.

It is important to note that remote access and specific access methods (e.g. Shibboleth or the creation of an individual user account through registration) are available only for databases whose publishers provide such options.

Access to databases is granted to public institutions within the science and higher education system that are registered in the Register of Scientific Organisations of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Croatia. This includes public state universities and their constituent units, public universities of applied sciences and public research institutes.
