Organized by the association of English studies students from Zagreb, ENGLISH STUDENT CLUB X.A., the ninth international conference for young researchers, entitled ANGLOPHONIA: FRAGILITY OF MEANING, was held at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb from 27 to 29 May 2026. Assoc. Prof. Ljubica Matek, PhD, delivered a plenary lecture entitled Fragile Ontology: Human Extinction in Byron’s “Darkness”, offering an eco-ethical and posthumanist interpretation of this dystopian poem.
