Open Day Report
Today, 17 April 2026, the introductory part of the Open Day programme of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Osijek was held in the Faculty’s Great Ceremonial Hall. On this occasion, our teaching staff also took part in promoting the study programme in Pedagogy among secondary school students from Osijek. At our stand, students had the opportunity to learn more about the study programme in Pedagogy through brochures, promotional materials from the recently held conference Global and Local Perspectives on Pedagogy 2, as well as various publications by members of the Department of Pedagogy. Final-year secondary school students were most interested in the employment opportunities available to pedagogues and in the main difference between pedagogy and psychology. Based on today’s conversations with them, we concluded that most final-year students are not aware of the wide range of activities pedagogues can perform. It would therefore be important to continue strengthening the visibility of pedagogy and pedagogues as professionals in the public sphere.
