Participation of Students in the 11th OMEP Scientific and Professional Conference

On Monday and Tuesday, 16 and 17 March 2026, first-year students of the University Graduate Double Major Study Programme in Pedagogy, Klara Jerković and Laura Špionjak, under the mentorship of Senior Teaching Assistant Katarina Bogatić, PhD, participated in the 11th OMEP Scientific and Professional Conference entitled “Education for Peace: The Quality of Relationships as the Foundation for Change”. The conference was held at Hotel Eden in Rovinj and was co-organised by OMEP Croatia and the Faculty of Teacher Education, University of Zagreb.

The students participated in the conference as part of an extracurricular activity, while the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences covered the costs of their participation, with the aim of encouraging student engagement in scientific and professional work and the dissemination of research findings.
Together with their mentor, the students presented a paper entitled “Children as Co-Researchers: Applying the Photovoice Method in Research on Peace and Conflict”, which presented the results of research conducted as part of the elective course Research with Children.

Students Mia Baričević, Stela Peter and Ana Zekić also participated in conducting the research.
