every working day from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

In accordance with epidemiological measures, the group study and silent reading rooms have a total of 20 workspaces available on a first-come, first-served basis. No prior notice is required if participants only need to use a computer in the reading room. If they need to use books from the Library of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Osijek while working in the reading room, a list of books must be sent by e-mail to knjiznica@ffos.hr 24 hours before arriving at the Library. The Library stores books at two locations, so time is required to prepare them, particularly when seminar literature is needed.

The Library offers literature scanning services for participants in the Programme for Acquiring Pedagogical Competences for Vocational Teachers and Teaching Assistants who attend classes online, while respecting copyright regulations. Parts of books (up to 20 pages), as well as scholarly and professional articles, may be scanned upon request. For the scanning service, please contact kmitric@ffos.hr (Kristina Kiš).

About the Services of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Library

The Library collection can be searched through the Library online catalogue, and Library services may be used after registering with the Library. Registration is possible in two ways: in person at the Library or by sending an e-mail to knjiznica@ffos.hr. If a participant registers by e-mail, the message should include the name of the programme, the participant’s full name, participant identification number (obtained from the Student Administration Office), home address, telephone number, and e-mail address.

Basic Library services include:

  • borrowing library materials

  • using library materials in the reading room
  • user training (searching the online catalogue, searching databases), etc.

Library materials may be borrowed for a period of 15 days, with the possibility of extending the loan period by an additional 15 days. After the loan period expires, an overdue fee of EUR 0.067 (HRK 0.50) per book per day is charged.

  • reference works (dictionaries, encyclopaedias, lexicons, etc.)
  • journals

Emerald Insight – full-text database of journals and e-books
ERIC – bibliographic database providing access to literature and resources related to education
HRČAK – Portal of Croatian Scientific and Professional Journals; full-text content
JSTOR – full-text database of journals and e-books
ProQuest – platform for full-text databases
