Postdoctoral Research Projects (PDIP-2026)

Call opening date: 16 February 2026.
Application deadline: 6 May 2026 at 13:00 (CET)
Project funding duration: 2 years
Total amount per project: EUR 40,000–100,000
Total planned funding: EUR 1,000,000
Expected project start: second half of 2026
Who Can Apply
Applicant:
• a higher education institution or scientific institute registered in the Republic of Croatia
Project leader:
• a doctoral degree holder who obtained their doctorate no more than 5 years before the application deadline (with permitted extensions)
• holds an ORCID identifier
• may, but does not have to, be employed by the applicant institution at the time of application.
The programme includes a two-stage process:
1. selection of candidates at the applicant institution level (call for a senior assistant position)
2. evaluation of project proposals at the Croatian Science Foundation level.
Funding
The programme provides funding for:
• the salary of a senior assistant for a period of two years
• research, equipment, dissemination, and collaboration costs
• open-access publishing
• indirect costs (up to 15%).
Funding is available for projects in all scientific fields.
