On Tuesday, 28 April 2026, as part of FUZ&JA, the science popularisation project of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Osijek, popular Chaser and MA in Comparative Literature Morana Zibar will give a lecture on her career path and the benefits of the quiz mindset. The lecture is open to the public and will be held in the Great Ceremonial Hall (60) of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (Lorenza Jägera 9) at 6:00 p.m. Join us!
ABOUT THE LECTURE
Who are quiz players, why are they the way they are, and what makes a good quiz player? Is it a talent you are born with or a skill that can be developed? Despite common assumptions that quiz players are simply nerds with photographic memories and a wealth of facts that are useless in real life, this lecture will aim to show how the quiz mindset is generally a good habit and a useful tool for navigating today’s world. Through the story of her own quiz and professional journey, Morana Zibar will seek to bring the value of knowledge and general culture closer to a wider audience, while perhaps also opening up some new perspectives for students on personal development and career opportunities.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Morana Zibar graduated in English Language and Literature and Croatian Language and Literature from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb, and earned a master’s degree in Comparative Literature. After working in tourism, she turned to translation, writing and proofreading as a freelance professional. Today, she is best known as a Chaser on HRT’s quiz show Potjera, and for years she has been an active participant in numerous television and pub quizzes in Croatia. She also works as a moderator, quiz question writer and quiz host in various formats and for different occasions.
