On 17 March 2026, the Student Psychological Counselling Department successfully organised the first Living Library: “Psychology in Practice” event at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Osijek. The event was designed to give psychology students a closer insight into the realities of working in the field of psychology.
The Living Library is an interactive format that allows students to gain insight into the professional experiences of experts from various fields of psychology through short, one-on-one conversations. Psychologist Ena Štrk explains:
“We wanted to give students the opportunity for more personal contact, where they could ask specific questions, thereby reducing their fear of speaking in public and encouraging openness in conversation.”
Through short conversations with eight experts from different fields of psychology, participants gained insight into career development, professional challenges and various career perspectives.
The successful organisation and high attendance of this event confirm the importance of such initiatives and create opportunities for their continued implementation, with the aim of fostering ongoing connections between students and the profession and empowering future psychologists on their professional journeys.
