On Monday, 25 May 2026, at 5:00 PM, the second activity of the Film Club of the Centre for Popular Culture will take place in the Small Ceremonial Hall (Room 39) of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. All interested students and visitors will have the opportunity to watch the screening of the film Blade Runner (Blade Runner, directed by Ridley Scott, 117 min.), which explores the problematic relationship between humans and technology. Although it was a financial failure at the box office upon its release, Scott’s 1982 film has since become a landmark of science fiction cinema. In addition to its intriguing story about a replicant (android) hunter who begins to question the morality of his actions and its memorable performances, the film owes its cult status to Vangelis’ timeless music and its striking visual identity. For the latter, it received two Academy Award nominations, in the categories of Best Visual Effects and Best Production Design. The audience will be introduced to the film by Associate Professor Ljubica Matek, PhD, and student Martin Zelić. The screening is held for educational purposes, and admission is free for all interested visitors.
