Organised by the Department for Psychological Counselling of Students, the Living Library: “Psychology in Practice” event was successfully held for the first time at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Osijek on 17 March 2026. The event was designed to introduce psychology students to the realities of professional work in the field.
The Living Library is an interactive format that allows students to gain insight into the professional experiences of experts from various fields of psychology through brief, individual conversations. Psychologist Ena Štrk explains: “We wanted to give students an opportunity for more personal interaction, during which they could ask specific questions, while also reducing their fear of public speaking and encouraging openness in conversation.”
Through brief conversations with eight experts from different fields of psychology, participants gained insight into career development, professional challenges and a variety of professional perspectives.
The successful organisation and high attendance of the event confirm the importance of such initiatives and create opportunities for their continuation—with the aim of fostering ongoing connections between students and the profession and empowering future psychologists on their professional journey.
