The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences has established extensive cooperation with universities, faculties, and other institutions in Croatia and abroad. Cooperation takes place through participation in exchange programmes (Fulbright/Humphrey, Junior Faculty Development Programme, DAAD, ÖAD, ERASMUS), the joint organization of academic conferences and summer schools, work on projects, cooperation in publishing journals and academic publications, the delivery of undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral study programmes, as well as student and staff exchanges. Cooperation is also based on signed cooperation agreements.
The Department of Croatian Language and Literature has developed extensive cooperation with the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb, the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Pula, the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Rijeka, Croatian Studies in Zagreb, and the Catholic Faculty of Theology in Đakovo. The Department’s longest-standing cooperation is with the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Pécs and includes the exchange of professors and students, the organization of joint academic conferences and publication of conference proceedings, joint literary events, and presentations of books written by professors from both faculties. In the 1997/1998 academic year, the Department signed an international cooperation agreement with the neighbouring Republic of Hungary concerning the exchange of professors and students and other forms of cultural and academic cooperation.
International cooperation has also been developed with universities in Vienna, Ferrara, Budapest, Bratislava, Augsburg, Basel, Poznań, Maribor, Štip, Kraków, Nitra, Lviv, Ljubljana, and Vicenza. International academic and cultural cooperation has also been established with the Faculty of Education in Mostar.
