Kornelija Petr Balog’s research interests focus on library services for socially excluded groups affected by dementia (particularly persons with Alzheimer’s disease), their information needs and behaviour, information organization, evaluation of information services, and education in the field of information and communication sciences. She has published one scholarly monograph, Towards a Culture of Evaluation in Academic Libraries, as well as numerous research papers in relevant Croatian and international journals. She has participated in numerous national and international conferences with accepted and invited presentations. She has been a member of the programme and organizing committees of numerous national and international conferences (e.g. Bobcatsss, LIDA, and others). She has led one national research project and participated as a member in several national and one international research project (Erasmus +). In the 2016/2017 academic year, she participated in teaching (lectures and a workshop within the course Advances in Information Sciences) at The European Summer School on Information Science – ESSIS, held in Katlenburg, Germany (28 August to 1 September 2017) as part of the international Erasmus + project eINFOSE. From 2017 to 2021, she was Editor-in-Chief of the Croatian Librarians’ Herald, and since 2017 she has been a member of the National Committee for Information and Communication Sciences. She is the recipient of the Eva Verona Award, awarded to young librarians who are members of the Croatian Library Association for outstanding dedication, innovation and promotion of the library profession (1998). She has also received recognition for her scientific papers on two occasions: in 2009, the Highly Commended Award from the editorial board of the journal Performance Measurement and Metrics for the article: Petr Balog, Kornelija.
