During 2024, the seventh series of the popular science programme scientific inter_view was organized by the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek, as part of the FUZ&JA science popularization project of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Osijek.
The seventh popular science series focused on sports journalism, sports commentary and the media interpretation of sport. The series featured distinguished Croatian sports journalist and analyst Anton Samovojska and distinguished Croatian sports journalist and commentator Željko Vela.
The two events addressed questions related to professional experience in sports journalism, the role of sports commentators in shaping the public understanding of sport, and the ways in which sporting events are presented, analysed and interpreted in the media. Both events were held at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Osijek, in the Small Council Hall, Room 39, and the event moderator was Igor Josipović.
