MISSION
The study programme in Sociology creates and fosters an active, open and stimulating learning environment in which professionals and intellectuals are educated to enter the labour market with their professional knowledge and critical thinking skills and to contribute to the development of their local community, region and country. The study programme in Sociology develops methodological knowledge, competencies related to data processing and analysis, and theoretical sociological imagination, enabling students to analyse everyday issues in the context of public problems, public policies and the characteristics of the structure of Croatian society. The study programme in Sociology also develops pedagogical competencies that enable work within the education system, as well as transferable communication and social skills. In its scientific research activities, the study programme in Sociology strives to achieve international standards of excellence by keeping pace with current scientific developments in the field of sociology, while at the same time addressing topics related to local, regional and national social development.
