User Education

New information and communication technologies and changes in the educational experience brought about by the Bologna Declaration have introduced a number of profound changes to Croatian higher education. Students are now at the centre of the educational process, and the aim of study is no longer limited to acquiring specific knowledge, but also includes understanding and applying the knowledge gained.

Students must therefore “learn how to learn” during their studies in order to become capable of independent learning and professional development throughout their working lives and beyond.

Accordingly, the modern so-called “Bologna” library represents the heart of a university or higher education institution, and the quality of the overall scientific and teaching process depends on its activities and services.

The Library participates directly in the teaching process by providing information literacy education for students and creating an appropriate learning environment, since the central mission of higher education institutions today is to educate individuals who are capable of lifelong learning.
