As we all eagerly await brighter and warmer days, the new cycle of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Osijek’s science popularisation project Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in the Community – and Me (FUZ&JA) brings a host of exciting events to make spring and summer feel that much closer. As before, we have prepared lectures, workshops and panel discussions addressing important and topical issues that connect science, art and various social phenomena.
The organisers of this summer semester’s programme are the FFOS Alumni Association, the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research, the Aesthetics Laboratory and Open Thursday, as well as the Department of Pedagogy and the Department of English Language and Literature at the Faculty. They all share the same goal – to present socially and scientifically important topics to the wider public in an accessible way and encourage critical thinking.
Our guests across the 12 planned activities will include Morana Zibar, Dean Komel, Mario Kozina, Momir Futo, Nenad Bakić and others. We will also hear from our own Faculty members and students: Professors Renata Jukić and Irena Pavela Banai, Assistant Mia Filipov and student Matej Gabud. Topics will include care for older people, evolutionary medicine, self-employment, poetry writing, political religions, the quiz mindset, pedagogical entrepreneurship and more.
