With regard to the public call published in the “Official Gazette” No. 23/2026, by the Croatian Employment Service – Osijek Regional Office, on the websites of Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek and the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Osijek, and on the official job portal of the European Research Area, the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Osijek hereby informs candidates who submitted an application for the vacant scientific-teaching position of Assistant Professor in the scientific area of the humanities, scientific field of art history (scientific branches of history and theory of fine arts, architecture, urban planning and visual communications), for an indefinite period and on a full-time basis, that following the completion of the selection procedure, the following candidate was selected:

Notice to applicants for the selection of one employee to the associate position of Assistant in the scientific area of the humanities, scientific field of history, for a fixed term and on a full-time basis, to work on the research project “Evliya Çelebi and Eastern Croatia in the 17th Century” (project code: IP-2022-10-8014), funded by the Croatian Science Foundation
Applicants for the following position are hereby informed:
- one employee to the associate position of Assistant in the scientific area of the humanities, scientific field of history, for a fixed term and on a full-time basis, to work on the research project “Evliya Çelebi and Eastern Croatia in the 17th Century” (project code: IP-2022-10-8014), funded by the Croatian Science Foundation
published on 6 March 2026, that the interview with applicants who have qualified for the second stage of the selection procedure will be held on 27 April 2026 (Monday) in Room 32 of the Faculty (first floor) in the afternoon.

A CALL FOR APPLICATIONS
for the appointment of
- one employee to the scientific-teaching position of Assistant Professor in the scientific area of the humanities, scientific field of philology (scientific branch of German studies), for an indefinite period and on a full-time basis at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Osijek
- one employee to the scientific-teaching position of Assistant Professor in the scientific area of the humanities, scientific field of art history (scientific branches of history and theory of fine arts, architecture, urban planning and visual communications), for an indefinite period and on a full-time basis at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Osijek
- one employee to the associate position of Assistant in the scientific area of the humanities, scientific field of history, for a fixed term and on a full-time basis, to work on the research project “Evliya Çelebi and Eastern Croatia in the 17th Century” (project code: IP-2022-10-8014), funded by the Croatian Science Foundation
All applicants must meet the general requirements stipulated by the Labour Act (“Official Gazette” Nos. 93/14, 127/17, 98/19, 151/22, 46/23 and 64/23).
Applicants under items 1 and 2 must meet the general requirements stipulated by Article 39, paragraph 1 and Article 40 of the Higher Education and Scientific Activity Act (“Official Gazette” No. 119/2022), as well as the special requirements stipulated by the Decision of the Rectors’ Conference on the Necessary Requirements for the Evaluation of Teaching and Professional Activities in the Procedure for Appointment to Scientific-Teaching Titles, Article 123, paragraph 1 and Article 124 of the Statute of Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek, Article 47, paragraph 1 and Article 48 of the Statute of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Osijek, and the special requirements stipulated by Article 9 of the Regulations on the Procedure for Appointment/Reappointment to Scientific-Teaching, Artistic-Teaching, Teaching, Associate and Professional Positions at Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek.
Applicants under items 1 and 2 must submit an application for the Call for Applications together with the mandatory documentation in accordance with the prescribed application form, Form No. 1 – appointment to a scientific-teaching position, published on the Faculty’s website (link: https://www.ffos.unios.hr/dokumenti/).
Applicants under item 3 must meet the general requirements stipulated by Article 39, paragraph 6, Articles 40 and 44 of the Higher Education and Scientific Activity Act (“Official Gazette” No. 119/2022), Article 123, paragraph 4, Articles 124 and 130 of the Statute of Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek, Article 47, paragraph 3, Articles 48 and 54 of the Statute of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Osijek, as well as the requirements stipulated by Article 26 of the Regulations on the Procedure for Appointment/Reappointment to Scientific-Teaching, Artistic-Teaching, Teaching, Associate and Professional Positions at Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek.
Applicants under item 3 must submit an application for the Call for Applications together with the mandatory documentation in accordance with the prescribed application form, Form No. 4 – for appointment to the associate position of Assistant, published on the Faculty’s website (link: https://www.ffos.unios.hr/dokumenti/).
Applicants under item 3 who meet the formal requirements of the Call for Applications and who have submitted the mandatory documentation for the first stage of the candidate selection procedure with their application are required to attend testing/an interview before the Committee, i.e. the second stage of the candidate selection procedure. They will be informed about the place and time of the testing/interview via the website of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Osijek www.ffos.unios.hr and by email. Applicants who fail to attend the testing/interview will be deemed to have withdrawn their application and will no longer be considered applicants in the Call for Applications.
The Higher Education and Scientific Activity Act, the Statute of Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek, the Statute of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Osijek, and the Regulations on the Procedure for Appointment/Reappointment to Scientific-Teaching, Artistic-Teaching, Teaching, Associate and Professional Positions at Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek are published on the Faculty’s website (link: https://www.ffos.unios.hr/dokumenti/).
Applicants are required to submit their application and evidence demonstrating fulfilment of the criteria electronically in PDF format.
Applicants claiming the right of priority in employment pursuant to special regulations – the Croatian Homeland War Veterans and Members of Their Families Act (“Official Gazette” Nos. 121/17, 98/19 and 84/21), Article 48 of the Civilian Homeland War Victims Act (“Official Gazette” No. 84/21), Article 48.f of the Act on the Protection of Military and Civilian War Invalids (“Official Gazette” Nos. 33/92, 57/92, 77/92, 27/93, 58/93, 2/94, 76/94, 108/95, 108/96, 82/01, 103/03, 148/13 and 98/19), and Article 9 of the Act on Professional Rehabilitation and Employment of Persons with Disabilities (“Official Gazette” Nos. 157/13, 152/14, 39/18 and 32/20) – are required to invoke this right in their application and enclose all evidence prescribed by the relevant special regulations for exercising that right. Such applicants shall have priority over other applicants only under equal conditions. Applicants invoking the right of priority in employment pursuant to Article 9 of the Act on Professional Rehabilitation and Employment of Persons with Disabilities (“Official Gazette” Nos. 157/13, 152/14, 39/18 and 32/20) are required to invoke this right in their application and submit all evidence demonstrating fulfilment of the required conditions, as well as proof of disability.
By applying to the Call for Applications, each applicant gives consent for all personal data contained in the application documentation to be collected and processed for the purpose of conducting the selection procedure, in accordance with the regulations governing the protection of personal data, in particular Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation). Each applicant is required to submit a signed and completed Form 9 (CONSENT), published on the website of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Osijek (link: https://www.ffos.unios.hr/dokumenti/). An application submitted without a duly completed and signed Consent Form shall be considered incomplete and shall be rejected.
All applicants will be notified of the results of the Call for Applications no later than fifteen (15) days from the date of completion of the selection procedure. The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Osijek reserves the right to notify all applicants by email.
Persons of both sexes may apply under equal conditions. Late and incomplete applications will not be considered.
Only persons who submit a timely and complete application and meet the formal requirements of the Call for Applications shall be considered applicants.
An application shall be considered complete if it contains all information and attachments specified in this Call for Applications and is personally signed by the applicant who submitted it.
The calls for applications under items 1 to 3 are open for thirty (30) days from the date of publication.
