The book Planning, Construction and Evaluation of Library Spaces provides a systematic and contemporary overview of the planning and design of library spaces, emphasising the importance of their functionality, adaptability and focus on users’ needs. The authors discuss the processes involved in constructing new library buildings, as well as redesigning and improving existing spaces, with particular emphasis on the role of the library as a place for learning, collaboration and the joint creation of knowledge. Both authors will participate in the presentation and discuss the motivation behind and development of the book, its structure and significance for the advancement of librarianship, as well as the challenges involved in planning library spaces in contemporary society.
