Study Trip of the Department of History to Sarajevo

Department of History

From 5 to 7 May 2026, staff and students of the Department of History took part in a study trip to Sarajevo. They were joined by other interested students from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Osijek. During their three-day stay in Sarajevo, they visited the Faculty of Philosophy and the Oriental Institute, where they learned more about the study of history and historiography in Bosnia and Herzegovina. They were warmly welcomed by their colleagues from Bosnia and Herzegovina, and special thanks are extended to Prof. Amila Kasumović, PhD, and Senior Associate Amer Maslo for their assistance in organising these visits. In addition, the students and staff of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Osijek visited several local heritage institutions, including the National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the History Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The visit to Sarajevo proved to be an excellent opportunity for learning and socialising. The Department of History intends to continue organising study trips of this kind in the future with the aim of further enriching the student experience and strengthening academic cooperation.
