DOCUMENTS AT THE EUROPEAN UNION LEVEL

The Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance (ESG) in the European Higher Education Area were published by the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education.

The Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance (ESG) in the European Higher Education Area were published by the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education, ENQA in 2005 with the aim of contributing to a common understanding of quality assurance in higher education within the EHEA.

In 2012, the need to revise these standards was identified. The draft of the revised document, Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area, ESG), was adopted by the Bologna Follow-up Group (BFUG) on 19 September 2014 and was expected to be adopted by the ministers of the European Higher Education Area, EHEA at the conference in Yerevan on 14 and 15 May 2015.
